PURPLE DOT CONNECTION

The "RED" state, "Blue" state divide must be bridged for our politics to move forward. Pam Huff and Natalie Davis believe we are all a little blue and a little red. So, we have created the "Purple Dot Connection."

WHAT ABOUT SENATOR CRAIG?

It hit the airwaves and newspapers yesterday...Senator Larry Craig of Idaho was arrested and plead guilty to lewd conduct in a Minneapolis airport. He has since protested his innocence, denies ever engaging in homosexual conduct--in fact, denies being a gay person. A lot of the talk show stuff has focused on whether the media are making more of this story than it's worth. Media are being accused of trying to equate the problems of Craig, Mark Foley, Ted Hassler (evangelical minister) with the hypocrisy of the Republican Party. All three are Repubs, and all 3 have built careers on stressing family values and going after gays. Is this a media frenzy or just a good story?

I think it's a good story. This just shows that Craig is a hypocrite. It probably wouldn't be so bad if Craig weren't so "adamently" against homosexuality. But since he was, the fact that he engages in homosexual activity is ironic and quite unforgiveable.

I think it's quite interesting that now the ACLU, whom Craig has voted against 76% of the time, is taking on his case. Maybe now the good Senator will see that the ACLU isn't just out to get everyone.

this is a sad situation...Craig had two options in this situation...he could either come out and say that he was gay, or he could say that he's not gay and he was just scared because "he was the only white guy in the bathroom." we all know he said the latter which means one thing: he would rather be known as a racist than be openly gay. i guess he feels he would have a better chance to get reelected this way...sad.
